Three African Sketches for Flute with Piano Accompaniment, Op. 55 (1960)

These sketches were developed from African folk-melodies. In the first and third the pianoforte accompaniment was suggested by the guitar accompaniment of the origins. In the second the melody was unaccompanied in the original. The work was composed in 1960 as a token of respect for the immense cultural heritage of the African peoples.
