The following concerts featuring the works of Alan Bush are scheduled for April and May 2002.

Wednesday 10th April 2002 at 1 pm.

Concert by Alison Teale (oboe) performing Northumbrian Impressions for Oboe and Piano Op. 42a (1953) (see here).

Thursday 11th April 2002 at 1 pm.

Sunday 14th April 2002 at 8 pm.

The first performance in Ireland of Alan Bush’s Lidice for Unaccompanied Mixed Voice Chorus (1947) by the Maynooth chamber choir will take place as part of a programme of works by various composers, including Faure’s Requiem.

English Sinfonia, Conductor Philip Ellis, will perform Homage to William Sterndale Bennett Op. 27 (1946) together with works by Haydn, Mozart and Weber.

Alison Teale

Alison Teale (oboe), the winner of the 5th Isle of Wight International Oboe Competition in May 2001 will perform Alan Bush’s Northumbrian Impressions for Oboe and Piano Op. 42a (1953) in a programme which includes works by J.S. Bach, Dorati, Dring, Klughart, Krommer, Purcell and Rubbra. She also intends to play an extract of the piece on the Northumbrian Small Pipes Op. 42 (1953).
