We are pleased to announce that Alan Bush's Concert Piece for Cello and Piano, Op. 17 (1936) will be performed in a recital of British and American works for Cello and Piano at the Kleiner Konzertsaal, Gasteig, Munich, Bavaria on 4 March 2006 at 8pm. It will be performed by Graham Waterhouse (cello) and Timon Altwegg (piano).

The work was recently published by Maecenas Contemporary Composers. Giles Easterbrook, Director of Maecenas, describes it as 'one of the most significant British cello works of the inter-war period - of any period, some say - and is widely considered by those who know it to be his masterpiece'.

The work has been recorded by Joseph Spooner (cello) and Catherine Summerhayes (piano) on the CD Alan Bush: Chamber Music Volume 1 (Meridian Records CDE 84458).
