A new CD, British Recorder Music, has been recently released featuring the world première recording of Alan Bush's Sonatina for Recorders and Piano performed by Ross Winters for whom the work was written in 1975.
The other works on the CD, produced by Meridian, are quartets for recorder, violin, cello and piano/harpsichord by Lennox Berkeley and Arnold Cooke: Berkeley's Sonatina for recorder and piano and Cooke's Suite for three recorders and his Serial Theme and Variations. The pianist is Julian Jacobson, one of Britain's finest pianists. The violinist is Yuka Matsumoto and the cellist is Jessica Burroughs.
